Description
Winner of the “Overall” category at the Taza de Antioquia Coffee Competition, this rare Colombian coffee is designated as a #1 auction lot, making it among the finest coffees in the world. This particular offering is a true single origin from the Finca La Sampedreña farm and is grown between 1600 and 1800 meters. Smooth and nearly perfectly balanced, it is roasted slightly lighter to preserve the wonderful fruitiness of this bean, yet it retains the distinct characteristics of chocolate and spices. Notes of pear and apple are also present. This single origin is offered only by pound (16 oz). We can measure them into 8 oz bags upon request.
Lance Dong –
As a novice coffee nerd, I was really interested in trying this highly regarded single varietal. This is really nice drinking coffee. Very smooth, not bitter at all. Used a medium coarse grind on the burr grinder and used French Press for this first tasting. Slightly nutty taste followed by a dark chocolate/floral aftertaste. It’s a mellow enough cup that it’s nice to have when one just wants to have one or two cups. Perfect for afternoon coffee and a pastry. A second test was held with a full 8 cups of autodrip and the coffee stands up. Wonderful way to enjoy this excellent single varietal.
